As part of our theme ‘I have a dream’, the children in Class 6 have been learning about discrimination and segregation. When learning about apartheid, the class created freeze frames to represent some of the laws that existed in South Africa during the apartheid era. Each child had to think carefully about who they were in the freeze frame and how the law had an impact on their life and those around them. We also explored the Jim Crow laws, discussing in groups how we think these laws affected people living in America at that time.
